What to expect

When you contact me:
Whether you contact me by phone or email I will get back to you within 12 hours and, most likely within one or two hours.

First and foremost, I am here to answer any questions or concerns you have around counselling. These could be about my approach or my experience with a particular issue or practical issues such as what days/times I have available. Whatever the question, I encourage you to get in touch. I’m aware that it can be difficult making the first step and I am here to respond with understanding and clarity.

Our initial appointment:

At the beginning of our appointment I will introduce myself and explain some practical details about how I work. I will explain anything you’d like to know about counselling and the different approaches available and we can try to identify what might work best for you.

We will discuss what you’d like to get from counselling. You may not know what this is – so we may spend time trying to clarify this together – which will also give us a feel of how we can work together. The initial appointment is an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me and for us to get a sense of how suitable I am for you.

Clients say…

  • I have learned a lot about why I have always kept stuff in and how much that contributes to me feeling depressed. I am getting better at doing what I need and asking for what I want and my life is much more about what I want for myself.

  • I have a much deeper understanding of the stresses and pressures that bring out my rage and anger. Being able to identify when it’s happening and accept it stops me from acting on it or feeling so overwhelmed by it.

  • After counselling with Christian, I’m more decisive in my day to day life and spend less time confusedly procrastinating about what the right action is.
