About me

Christian de Cruz

Over the last 10 years I have provided therapy for people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, cultures and ages. I have worked with a wide variety of issues that incorporate relationship issues, family issues, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, different forms of abuse, identity and self-esteem issues and feelings of isolation and loneliness – all of which tend to lead to forms of depression and/or anxiety.

I began my career by supporting emotionally troubled adolescents in schools. Working firsthand with such formative years provided me with experience that significantly informs my work,  and I find that much of my work still deals with the struggles inherent in transition and change as well as traumas or relationship difficulties which have their roots in earlier years. Please see below for further information about my professional qualifications and background.

Professional background

My career as a counsellor and psychotherapist began with work in secondary schools, which culminated in becoming a student counsellor for a 6th form college. I have worked as a counsellor in a GP surgery as well as a mental health charity for whom I provided a counselling service for carers. I was also employed by a large national charity organization to provide counselling support for people affected by multiple sclerosis. Due to demand I now work exclusively in private practice.
